High School Consulting Fellowship

Elmseed Consulting Group is excited to open applications for the High School Consulting Fellowship, available to students in grades 9–12 who are eager to explore business, entrepreneurship, and real-world problem-solving.

The High School Consulting Fellowship is a comprehensive, multi-week program built around a specialized curriculum created by Elmseed, a Yale-based consulting organization. The fellowship is designed for students with a strong interest in strategic thinking, innovation, and understanding how businesses and organizations tackle complex challenges. Throughout the program, fellows will work closely with members of our consulting club, who will guide them through each week’s materials, activities, and discussions.

Fellows will engage in weekly sessions that combine instruction, hands-on exercises, and collaborative teamwork. Each module is structured to help students build essential consulting skills, such as structured problem-solving, data interpretation, brainstorming techniques, and effective communication. To deepen their learning, fellows will be assigned short readings, frameworks, or practice problems before each session. These assignments serve as preparation for small-group discussions, where students will analyze cases, share perspectives, and apply what they’ve learned to practical business scenarios.

Beyond the curriculum, the fellowship is designed to help students grow as leaders and collaborators. Throughout the program, fellows will strengthen their presentation skills, build confidence in expressing ideas, and learn to work effectively in teams, which are skills at the heart of every consulting engagement. Fellows will also have opportunities to ask questions, receive mentorship, and learn from the experiences of Yale students involved in consulting and entrepreneurship.

The program concludes with our capstone case competition, where fellows will form teams to solve a real-world business challenge using the frameworks and tools they have developed during the fellowship. Teams will present their recommendations to a panel of judges, and top performers will be recognized with awards and prizes.
